Woohoo! They got it right. It’s been a lovely, warm day here today, and I’ve made the most of it by spending as much time outside as possible. I even had to take my hoodie off when I was sitting in the conservatory this afternoon.
I had to take painkillers this morning, which was annoying. Well, I suppose I didn’t have to – I could have just suffered with the headache – but I gave it a couple of hours to go away on its own before I finally gave in and took half a caffeine tablet and ibuprofen. At least I’m taking less caffeine now, and I’ve cut out the paracetamol altogether. Hopefully, I’ll manage at least one more day without taking any before the end of the week.
The supplement list has one new addition, but otherwise is almost unchanged from yesterday:
- One Jarrow’s 5,000mcg methylB12 before breakfast
- 4 Swanson 500mcg B12 capsules (2 at about 4pm and 2 immediately after my workout)
- 2 Quest One-a-Day multivitamins with lunch
- Half an effervescent magnesium tablet (in water) mid morning
- One Incite 5,000IU D3 with my afternoon ice cream snack
- One Jarrow MK7 90mcg K2 with my afternoon ice cream snack
- 60mg of iron bisgycinate at 2am with some orange juice to help absorption
I’ve learned a bit more about the D3/K2 relationship today, and I realised I have to take K2 every day because it doesn’t stay in the body long, so I’m taking more K2 than I should really need at the moment. It won’t do me any harm to take a bit extra, so I’m not worried about it, and once I increase my D3, the ratio will be correct.
My workout was a bit different this afternoon. I decided to try something a bit like interval training (which is more similar to cycling here because of the variable effort required going up and down hill), so did 10km in 42 minutes, changing the resistance every 5 minutes. The resistance pattern was 3, 4, 5, 4, 3, 4, 5, 4, with the final 2 minutes back on 3 to cool down. Something totally random would probably mimic cycling more closely, but I find it difficult if I don’t have some kind of plan to work to. I’ll probably try to do more workouts like that, mixed in with steady state ones (resistance stays the same), and the occasional easy one like yesterday’s.
