It felt chilly this morning, after last night’s drop in temperature, so I put the warm air blower on … then forgot to turn it off, so it was left on for ages. Oops!
Weather Underground says it isn’t very warm. I suppose I should appreciate the fact that it’s warmer than the UK, but I really don’t. It’s still a lot colder than August!
I’d like to claim today as a headache free day, but I feel that would be a bit cheeky when I took ibuprofen this morning because my ankle was hurting, and caffeine because it was already 10am and I was still struggling to wake up. I don’t know what’s going on with me at the moment. If it wasn’t for the dogs and cats wanting breakfast, I think I’d be in bed until lunch time. Hopefully it will improve once we get into January, and the mornings start getting lighter.
My ankle was sore this morning, and I was almost ready to accept another day of staying away from the cross trainer, but then this happened. It’s inspired me to shop for another pair of running shoes that will cost more than the cross trainer and only last me about 500km, if I actually run in them, but I’m also so excited. I’ve been looking at reviews of the 15s on Amazon, and people who loved the 10s and 11s are saying they don’t like them because they’ve changed the style, and the pictures don’t look very trainer-like, but a lot more long and low. (If you clicked the ‘this happened’ link and read the post, you’ll know what I’m on about.)
Besides drugs, I’ve also taken supplements today:
- One Jarrow’s 5,000mcg methylB12 before breakfast
- 4 Swanson 500mcg B12 capsules (2 after my workout, 2 with dinner)
- 2 Valupak 400mcg folic acid tablets with breakfast
- 2 Quest One-a-Day multivitamins with lunch
- 2 Incite 5,000IU D3 with lunch
- One Jarrow MK7 90mcg K2 with lunch
- 4 Health Aid 30mg iron bisglycinate, 2 first thing in the morning and 2 last thing before bed with some orange juice to help absorption
Still no magnesium. There was a discussion about magnesium today on the PA/B12d group and I mentioned my experience of nearly fainting and my heart beating hard, and someone else said she had the same experience with magnesium (but with extreme fatigue as well), she’s done some research into it, and it seems to be a detox symptom. She suggested building up slowly, which is exactly what I’m planning to do, so I think I’m on the right lines there.
Did 7.5km in 31 minutes on the cross trainer, wearing my old Brooks Adrenaline GTS 7s, and generally feel a lot better for getting some exercise. I’ll have to wait and see how my ankle feels about it, but feeling better in my head is a positive even if my ankle is still sore!
