This is the first in what will (hopefully – this is me writing) be a series of daily updates that I’ll find useful when I look back on them in the future. Yes, they’re for me, but I figure other people might find them useful or interesting because I’ll be talking about things like vitamin deficiencies, health and fitness, and changes in weather/climate … as well as anything else that comes up from time to time.
I was originally going to do a daily weather post on FaceBook because I love it when FB shows me my posts from “this day” in previous years and I see the weather’s better than it was this time last year, but I’d probably bore all my friends to death. So, I decided to bore my blog readers – do you exist? – to death instead! And I can write a lot more here.
So here goes …
It’s 10pm and it isn’t very warm – but what else can you expect in the middle of November? It’s clear now, but it was cloudy most of the day, with a little bit of sun showing itself in mid-afternoon. Actually, it’s warmer than it has been the last 2 years. In 2013, I lit the woodburner for the first time on 15th November, and in 2014, I put the heating on on 3rd November. No heating at all yet this year, so I’m doing well. (The forecast is to turn a lot colder by next weekend …)
I had a really good day yesterday, and had my first totally painkiller-free day since … well, actually, I’m not sure when. Maybe some time in 2007? I’m only semi-joking. I’m pretty sure I’ve had headaches, and taken at least one dose of painkillers, every day for at least the last 2 years, and probably a lot longer. Unfortunately, I woke up with a headache this morning, and succumbed to the caffeine/ibuprofen/paracetamol combination that seems to be most effective against morning headaches. It went away, and didn’t come back.
Took one Jarrow’s 5,000mcg methylB12 (half in the morning, half late afternoon), one Quest 500mcg B12 (at about 7pm after I finished on the cross trainer), about 150mcg Solgar methylfolate (with the morning B12), 2 Quest One-a-Day multivitamins (one morning, one evening), and 30mg of iron bisglycinate before breakfast.
Did 15 km in 1:02 on the cross trainer in late afternoon, and started to get a nice endorphin rush about 35 minutes in. If only every workout could be that much fun!
And finally, I came in after my workout to find that email in my inbox: Received Funds Notification – You have received funds to your eWallet from MattLloydPublications. Thank you, Matt Lloyd. On schedule, as usual.
Overall, I felt pretty good today (no afternoon slump!) but really need to start getting up earlier – 8.20 is not good enough.
